Julia Raite is a photographer and freelance curator, based in Brooklyn, New York and Lincolnville, Maine. She is on a mission to empower emerging artists, advocate for viable careers in the arts, and make art more accessible and present in our daily lives. 

Julia graduated from Brooks Institute of Photography, and has since built a varied career, working many sides of the art industry. She has been an archive assistant for a number of renowned photographers; managed the facilities at Photographic Center Northwest in Seattle, WA; was Director of Operations for the community art center Waterfall Arts, in Belfast, ME; ran the 2019 summer gallery program at Maine Media Workshops + College, Rockport, ME; and consulted the Development team at the Center for Maine Contemporary Art, Rockland, ME.

She is currently focused on her own artwork and curatorial projects, with a special appreciation for analog photography. Her exhibition interests involve contemporary art that explores the phenomenon of existence, consciousness, and the human condition.
